Is KidKare going away?

No. KidKare is not going away. You’ll continue using KidKare for Food Program features like recording meals and attendance. The only change is that Accounting has moved to Parachute.

Will I lose any of my accounting data?

No. All of your income, expenses, invoices, and historical records have already been transferred to Parachute. Nothing is lost, and you’ll still be able to run reports and access past years’ information.

Your recurring invoices and parent autopay settings have been carried over. Parents don’t need to re-enroll—everything works just as before.

You’ll create and manage invoices in Parachute. You can:

• Send invoices to parents
• Record offline payments manually
• Split payments between multiple guardians
• Set up recurring invoices

Do I have to send invoices to parents, or can I just record payments?

You don’t have to send invoices if you prefer not to. In Parachute Settings, you can turn off Parent Notifications. This lets you create invoices and record payments internally without parents ever receiving them. Your reports will still stay accurate, and you’ll have full financial records for your business.

Do I still record meals in KidKare?

Yes. Food Program meal recording remains in KidKare. You’ll use Parachute for accounting, invoices, and payments. Both platforms share the same login, so switching is simple.

How do I record attendance now?

You can still record attendance in KidKare for your Food Program, just as you always have. Nothing changes there.

But now you also have access to new attendance features in Parachute. If you choose to take attendance in Parachute, it will automatically sync to KidKare so you don’t have to enter it twice.

With Parachute attendance, you can:

• Use QR code check-in so parents sign children in/out right from their phone
• Set up a kiosk with parent PINs or e-signatures
• Generate digital or printable attendance reports for licensing, subsidy, or personal records

Are there new fees?

No extra cost for existing KidKare Accounting users—your subscription price stays the same. If you use ParaPay for online payments, the same processing fees apply ($1 per transaction + 2.95% for cards).

What about taxes and year-end reports?

All of your past and current data is in Parachute, so you’ll run your Schedule C, 8829, and parent statements directly there. Time/Space percentage and childcare-specific tax tools are included.
