We’re excited to announce that starting October 15, sponsored centers using Parachute will have access to the new Receipt Capture feature — designed to simplify how Food Program expenses are recorded, reviewed, and verified.  Read Full Release Notes for October here →

Receipt Capture, which is available exclusively in Parachute, helps sponsors cut down manual expenses review time and catch errors — with automatic receipt scanning, duplicate detection, and line-item verification.
This helps you identify compliance risks early, ensure accurate reimbursements, and maintain clean audit trails across all centers.

With Receipt Capture, centers can now upload photos of their receipts directly in Parachute, and the system will automatically scan (OCR) the image to extract line items and key data and send it to Sponsors for approval.

On the Receipt Verification Page, you’ll now see a new column labeled Receipt Capture.

  • Expenses tagged with Receipt Capture include an image of the uploaded receipt — viewable line by line.
  • New filters make it easy to find and manage expenses with uploaded receipts. Read Detailed Article →
Smart Scanning

Parachute automatically reads line items, totals, and categories from each receipt.

Defect Detection

The system flags potential issues such as blurry images, missing details, or handwritten receipts.

Duplicate Prevention

Identifies receipts that may have already been uploaded to avoid double entries.

Review Efficiency

Sponsors can instantly view each receipt side-by-side with expense details and approve the expense within the same screen.

Receipt Capture reduces manual work, speeds up verification, and ensures higher accuracy and compliance across all center submissions.

If your network isn’t yet using Parachute, your Customer Success Manager can help you explore the benefits — from accessing Receipt Capture for automated, compliant expense reviews to empowering your sponsored centers with software that integrates seamlessly with KidKare.

Parachute brings everything together: expense management, payments, attendance, and parent communication — all in one connected ecosystem built to simplify operations and strengthen Food Program compliance.
